Privacy Policy
Nexu Solutions LLC owns this website (turkeuro.com). Nexu Solutions LLC plans a mobile application later, and this same privacy policy will cover that application when it is released.
This notice is for Turkeuro, the news site Nexu Solutions LLC publishes at turkeuro.com. It says what we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it in general, and how to ask a question. It is our notice. It is not a certification, and it is not the policy of Google or of any other company.
Account
If you register, we store your name, your email, and a hash of your password. We do not store the password in plain text. We use the account to know who filed a story or a comment, and to open the reader pages. When you sign in, we keep a sign-in record with the account, the email, the name, the role, and the time. We use that record to see who signed in. When you register, or when you ask to reset a password, we send mail to the email on the account.
Comments, letters, and files
A comment stores the text, the time, and either your account or the name you type if you are not signed in. We show the comment on the story. A letter from the contact form, the jobs form, or the advertise form stores your name, email, subject, and message so the desk can read it and reply. A story you submit, and any file you attach, is stored so the desk can decide whether to publish it. A short-lived check is stored when you post a comment, so a script cannot file it for you.
Email notes
If you subscribe from the footer, we store the email and, if you give it, your name. We use that list to send the note you asked for. We do not sell the list. You can unsubscribe from the link in the note, or ask us to remove the address.
Visits
We count visits so the desk can see which pages are read. For a public page we store the path, the day, a random visitor key, and a country code when the network provides one. We do not sell that record. The web server may also keep ordinary connection logs, which can include an IP address, so we can run the site and look into abuse. We do not sell those logs.
This site uses Google Analytics to count visits, scrolls, and outbound clicks, and Google may set cookies.
Cookies we set
We set our own cookies.
A session cookie, te_session, keeps you signed in. It is removed when you sign out, and it expires after about fourteen days.
A language cookie, te_lang, remembers the language of the menus. On a first visit we set it from the browser language. It lasts about a year.
A theme cookie, te_theme, remembers a display choice if you make one. It lasts about a year.
A visitor cookie, te_vid, is a random key so we can count a browser once per page per day. It lasts about four hundred days.
Advertising cookies
Pages include spaces marked Advertisement. A space may carry an ad we sold, or an ad from a third-party partner such as Google. When a partner serves an ad or measures it, that partner may set or read its own cookies, including to count the ad and to choose which ad to show. We do not control those cookies. The partner's own notice describes them. Your browser can block or delete cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep an account while it is open. You can ask us to delete a reader account that has not published a story. Comments stay with the story unless the desk removes them. Sign-in records and visit counts are kept as part of running the site. We do not set a fixed number of days for those logs. Letters in the inbox are kept so we can answer them, and then as the record of that letter. A subscription stays until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove it. Cookies last for the times above, unless you delete them sooner.
Ask a question
To ask what we hold, or to ask a question about this notice, email press@turkeuro.com or use the form on the Contact page at /page/contact. If the question is about an account, write from the email on that account.
