Türkiye continues to attract record numbers of international students, with recent reports indicating that the country hosts between 350,000 and 379,000 foreign students across its universities. The growth reflects increasing global demand for affordable education, internationally recognized degrees, and English-language programs. The Turkish higher education sector has expanded significantly over the past decade, making the country one of the fastest-growing education destinations in the world. Officials have set a target of welcoming 500,000 international students by 2028, supported by ongoing investment in universities and student services. Education experts say students are increasingly choosing Türkiye due to lower tuition fees, competitive living costs, scholarship opportunities, and easier access compared with traditional destinations such as the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada.
